Xbox can't load dashboard and menus

Discus and support Xbox can't load dashboard and menus in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; I have been having issues in the last 2 weeks on the original xbox one where the dashboard menu pop out does not load and instead just gives the shaded...     Xbox can't load dashboard and menus


    I have been having issues in the last 2 weeks on the original xbox one where the dashboard menu pop out does not load and instead just gives the shaded out look over the screen as if it were open. Trying to load other things such as settings and My Games
    & Apps do the same thing except freezes the entire console for 2-3 minutes.

    Here's what I have done so far:

    Offline System Update

    Factory Resetting, both kinds

    Power Cycling

    None of these have worked, but using OSU1 worked for some time as it would solve the issue only for the time the console remained on. Then it would revert back to the same issues. Furthermore, I now get an error every time I try to do this as an xbox update
    just rolled out changing the looks of the dashboard and the OSUs are considered obsolete now according to the error.

    What is happening to the console??? I have been researching for a while and have found nothing...

    Game Freezing at Main Menu

    Exactly the same for me freezes at main menu after about 5 secs. The audio makes a stuttering for about 10 secs and the game locks up before booting back to the dashboard. Can't even access the load menu to get to a back up save. Currently reinstalling
    but not confident it will fix this.

    Yeah, when you have a game like MW3 active, it'll always read you as "online" even if you're in the menu or campaign & when you're "online" you can't actively download anything. Just load the game, click to download whatever you want to download, go back
    to the Xbox dashboard & wait.

    Can you fully disable the snap feature?

    You can't disable the snap app.

    When you press the Xbox button what are you expecting? For it to go to Dashboard?

    What app is it snapping for you? Is it the Achievements app?

    Try the following:

    Load any full screen game

    Press the Xbox Button, if it snaps an app, highlight the snapped application

    Press the MENU button (3 lines where START used to be on Xbox 360)

    Select Go Full Screen

    When the application goes full screen

    Press the Xbox Button

    It should take you back to the Dashboard, then just load your game of choice and now apps shouldn't snap unless you tell them to.

    Forza Motorsport 5 - Digital Download Crashes Now

    I tried unplugging and restarting and I still crash to the dashboard after the loading menus when I have to hit A to advance.

    I uninstalled it and waited through the whole redownload and it didn't help.

    I only got to do the first race...it won't let me past where it explains drivatar. And the way the game is structured with the cloud saves I can't get to a menu or anything...it just loads right up to the same screen that crashes when I hit the only button
    you can hit.

    I have had the same problem with every backward compatible game since the update came out and I've done everything imaginable to try and fix this. The one fix that seemed to work for other people didn't work for me on any of the games. It involves pushing
    the two menu buttons in the middle of the xbox one controller at the same time to load the xbox 360 dashboard. From there the dashboard says I have zero profiles and the only option to choose is "download profile". Really frustrating to hear of people complaining
    about framerate issues or multiplayer not working when a lot of people can't even get sign in to get past the game menu!!!
