Xbox Black Screen After Splash Screen

My Xbox One only shows a black screen after the initial splash screen is finished. On this black screen I can't do anything except pull up the "What do you want to do" menu by holding down the center xbox-button on my controller.

I've tried power cycling and have checked / replugged all my wires. Is there any fix beyond a soft factory reset? (Specifically, because I don't want to redownload all my skyrim / fallout mods for a third time because I keep having to fix problems with xbox
updates by factory resetting.)

I'm having the same problem. Screen goes black after xbox one splash screen. Already tried your solutions with no luck.

Just as a heads up, the black screen is normal.

It should be green splash, black screen then dashboard.

After a system update, the black screen can remain for a few minutes before you see anything.

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely.
Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes.
Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

Like I said, Xbox app is not showing f18 carrier landing lite. Still, I followed the steps you provided here again and still doesn't work. Still black screen after splash screen.
