    Xbox Black screen after most recent update.

    Press and hold the sync button (on the left side of xbox) and the eject button (on the front) and tap the power button once while holding sync and eject. Wait until you hear the second beep to release the sync and eject. This will take you to the factory reset screen then click reset to factory settings. There is an option to either reset and keep all games and apps or reset fully to original factory settings. Hope this helps!

    Same thing is happening to us. Just updated today and now black screen of doom. We can get to the factory reset page but then the controller stops working so we can't select anything. The fact this thread is over 2 months old and nothing has been done is making me go Sony from now on. Absolutely ridiculous.

    no its not on the S. It's only Xbox One (1st generation 2014 Era) released xboxs that are being reduced to black screens. Microsoft wants us to buy new ones
