Xbox banned me for referencing the Code of Conduct.

You can't appeal a 24 hour ban because the case review process takes longer than the suspension itself. So by the time they're done reviewing it, your suspension would already be over.

I'm wondering whether you were banned because you abbreviated it...not in itself an issue but, to the other person, it may have looked like you were saying you were reporting them followed by calling them a certain anatomical something (they may not have been aware you were referencing the code of conduct or, more likely, simply not care)

I'm guessing these bans also stay on the account and can't be removed which would mean it counts toward the total amount of bans required for permanent ban.

That's great. I hope someone at Microsoft understands how ridiculous that is. The fact I was referencing the Code of Conduct itself makes this whole situation feel very ironic.

And also, how is THEOWENKILLER an appropriate gamertag when it is referencing the act of murder? This technically is also a violation of the code of conduct.

What are examples of content that is prohibited in Xbox Live?

(Note: the examples below are just a few examples of Content prohibited by the Microsoft Code of Conduct. Just because something isn’t on this list doesn’t mean it’s OK.)

Content that is controversial. For example:

• Sexual, provocative, pornographic, or adult content.....

This includes referencing towards or in relation too....

This would have been reported by other players, and then confirmed inappropriate.
