Xbox ban issues

This would be up to Xbox Enforcement it's possible the issue a communication ban or a console ban.

Occasionally the enforcement team will let you know what was said if you submit a case review. Other than that, if you've read the code of conduct then it's pretty to easy to figure out why you were banned.

Technically you can be reported for any reason, but the enforcement team does investigate every complaint they receive and will only issue a suspension if they have determined you have done something to violate the code of conduct. If someone else starts
something, report and block them instead of responding. Then they get the ban and you get to go on with your game play.

Does this mean people who are mistakenly permanently banned will stay banned until Xbox fixes the issue or will the ban be lifted with normal timeframe?

I can confirm this is an Xbox Live Enforcement issue that is affecting many players. Over the past 48 hours I have a dozen Xbox friends that have received communication bans. Many with no relation or connection to each other. Some have reported communication
bans that indicated a 24 hour ban, some with 7 day bans, some that were banned twice in the span of 48 hours, and some had the bans lifted within 2 hours of the ban getting issued (without even filing an appeal). I would suggest checking your Xbox Reputation
status and enforcement status. Many times if a ban is issued there is a screen shot that indicates the text or comment that warranted the ban. If you have been erroneously banned you can either wait it out or file an appeal to the ban you received through
your Xbox Live account page.
