    Xbox Backwards/Forwards compatibility

    Hello,

like many of you i am very excited for the next xbox. However, i need to know if i can play my xbox one games on the new console. The console seem to be only a hrpahics and performace increase, but if i cant play and keep my progress from my xbox one and
the game discs and downloads then im not sure im gonna get the new one.

i have seen lots of info regarding this topic, but it still felt very vauge. Can anyone help me out?

    :)

I want it to have forward backwards compatibility so it can play Xbox One games

Yes. Xbox One games are compatible with the Series S/X and your progress will carry over.

Yes. Game progress is saved the same way from the disc than from a digital game either on the cloud or on the hard disk drive.

*Keep in Xbox Series S doesn't support physical disc-based media. The Xbox Series X is Microsoft's only next-generation console with an optical disc-drive.

If you have you progression on the cloud, yes!

Does that include physical disks as well?
As long as you get the Series X. If you get the Series S you would have to repurchase the games digitally.
