Xbox auto-scrolling to the right (Controller has nothing to do with it.)

Hey, so I tried to play on my xbox when it was suddenly auto-scrolling to the right, so I tried doing all the basic things, restarting the xbox, turning off the xbox and unplugging the power cord for 2 mins, and it was still doing it. I asked my brother
for help and so we tried using my controller on his xbox, it did nothing, he tried using his controller on my xbox and it was scrolling, so controllers arent the problem. Apparently, the fact that a cord is plugged into the xbox is the problem. Whenever there
is no usb cord plugged into the xbox to use my controller it will not scroll to the right, but when there
IS a usb cord plugged into the xbox, it will start auto scrolling to the right. And keep in mind, the usb cord isnt even connected to the controller. It's really weird.

Did anyone have a similar situation and knows a fix?

tl;dr: Xbox auto scrolls when there is a USB cord plugged into it, even when its not connected to the controller. It doesn't happen when there is no USB cord plugged into it. Any fixes

Does this apply to all games or just certain games like fortnite? I think your controller has drift where it automatically looks at a direction without you touching it. you might need to purchase another controller.

Just came across the dashboard scrolling to the right problem today. I tried all the shut downs and restarts but nothing helped. For two hours, frustrated. Then it hit me. Everything was working fine until I dropped my controller. I inspected my
controller and found the RB button was pushed down. Stuck when it fell, therefore causing the mystery malfunction. Popped it back out and now it works just like normal. No more scrolling. Hope this helps.

Thank you so much that fixed my problem. I thought my xbox was broke because I tried all the system restarts and everything and it was just my left bumper stuck down 😆😆😆

I had this same problem and it turned out that the right bumper was jammed and it was causing the constant scrolling. I got it unjammed and it works fine now.
