Xbox auto-reset

I'm sorry that you have to deal with losing settings on your Xbox every time you restart it can be really frustrating honestly.
Make sure your Xbox has the latest firmware. System updates can fix problems of this type. Go to Settings > System > Updates and check if updates are available.

Try doing a hard reset of your Xbox. To do this, press and hold the power button on the console for about 10 seconds until it turns off completely. Then, wait a few seconds and turn it on again.

Make sure there is enough local storage space on your Xbox. If the hard drive is full, it could be causing problems with your settings.

Make sure the Xbox is connected to a stable, direct power source. Avoid using multiple plugs or extension cords to connect it.
Hard Drive Problems:

If the internal hard drive or any part of the Xbox is failing, it could be causing these problems. In this case, you would have to consider replacing the hard drive or taking the console to an authorized Microsoft service center, or request a repair for your console by entering the link that I will leave you below.

An automatic factory reset is a known result of the last Alpha Skip Ahead update if you are in the insider program. If you are please visit the insider subreddit to provide feedback there reddit.com/r/xboxinsiders

Are you in the "skip ahead aplha" program? if yes then you would have had this update which reset the OS and would not have messed with any of your games or saves, there was a bug in the last build and the only way to fix it was to send out a new build with
a factory reset.

Sadly being in the preview program will come with these issues from time to time and its pretty much the nature of the beast as its what you signed up for.

I have noticed this happen with some other folk on this forum as well. I can't seem to find the thread, but will see about trying to find it.

So your saying the Xbox just hard reset its self?

Had same problem as soon as I noticed the reset I was lucky enough to unplug my external but the question I ask is why did this happen and what is microsoft planning to do to fix it. I lost internel games and cant get family members back on my acct at all
without errprs

Hey was there a update too your console ? Sometimes this can happen with updates inclusing if your in the preview program it can happen more offern.

You shouldnt need too worry about a external hard drive since a facotry reset wouldnt touch that.

I have seen it before where the xbox hasnt read a external hard drive connected and the games all shopw in ready too install making it look like a reset has been done. But it hasnt its just the console not seeing the drive and there for the games. A power cycle
always fixes this issue tho.
