Xbox auto factory reset

so i turned my xbox on after about 2 hours without touching it and it has been factory reset i went through the setup all 50+ games were uninstalled on my 1tb xbox

Had to reinstall all of them which with my internet took almost 3 days to complete. Very frustrated with this has anyone else had this problem?

Rule out the connections first, try a different lead

different tv

different power socket

remove any third party devices connected

reboot the x1

Maybe a factory reset ?? if all fails

yes it just happened to me too im glad all my games are saved on my external hard drive

I have noticed this happen with some other folk on this forum as well. I can't seem to find the thread, but will see about trying to find it.

So your saying the Xbox just hard reset its self?

Was there an update on your console?

Had same problem as soon as I noticed the reset I was lucky enough to unplug my external but the question I ask is why did this happen and what is microsoft planning to do to fix it. I lost internel games and cant get family members back on my acct at all
without errprs

 

Hey was there a update too your console ? Sometimes this can happen with updates inclusing if your in the preview program it can happen more offern.

You shouldnt need too worry about a external hard drive since a facotry reset wouldnt touch that.

I have seen it before where the xbox hasnt read a external hard drive connected and the games all shopw in ready too install making it look like a reset has been done. But it hasnt its just the console not seeing the drive and there for the games. A power cycle
always fixes this issue tho.

Like what your trying too do and what is happening ?

 

Are you in the "skip ahead aplha" program? if yes then you would have had this update which reset the OS and would not have messed with any of your games or saves, there was a bug in the last build and the only way to fix it was to send out a new build with
a factory reset.

Sadly being in the preview program will come with these issues from time to time and its pretty much the nature of the beast as its what you signed up for.
