Xbox audio problems from apps youtube/max/spotify

I miss being able to snap youtube and listen to it in the background. Not all videos on youtube are 100% visual for example comedy videos are mostly audio related. Anyways maybe a new update to the youtube app could allow it to play audio in the background
like spotify, iheartradio and pandora.

Have you tried searching for spotify on the store from another account on your console then try to install the app?

I haven't had this problem. My problem with spotify: I was listening to an album, then an ad came on, when the ad ended there wasn't any audio. I opened the app to see if it was paused. I pressed play on a song, no audio, tried a different album still no audio. I closed spotify then when I reloaded it said Something Went Wrong. Reload, This App Needs To Be Reinstalled (never seen that message before). Reinstalling didn't help. After closing and reinstalling multiple times finally spotify just started working again. Also awhile back spotify would close itself randomly after a few songs, no other game or app would do this.

I have similar issues with audio, as it works intermittently between various apps. I have an Xbox One S connected to a Vizio V Series V655-H9 running the ARC to an LG SN7R soundbar. The crazy thing is sometimes everything works the discreet audio & encoding for Dolby Atmos & DTS: X; yet often everything goes effectively MUTE. Case in point using YouTube with perhaps Uncompressed Stereo then shotting over to Blu-Ray with a DTS: X track and then on to Netflix using Atmos and back the system trips up. 1st time I set up everything, things just worked and everything seemed fine; apps auto-adjusted, audio decoded over the passthrough ARC. It all gave me no problems. Now I have to switch settings manually on both the TV and the Xbox and often a setup I was literally just previously using in the same sitting; after jumping from content, regardless of the app or game, the console loses audio. Bitstream / PCM, discreet audio vs stereo sound, shot even HDMI or Optical... I don't care anymore I just want sound at this point and a little consistency when I switch from HBO Max to Youtube or Spotify

Sometimes when i use spotify on max volume theres no audio even if the song is paused, if your using spotify atm try exiting it by pressing the button with the three lines and going to the exit option.

I think Spotify have some deal with PlayStation, so they can't or won't make an app for Xbox One right now. Spoticast is an unofficial app, it doesn't play the music from Spotify, it searches for the songs in your Spotify account on YouTube and plays them
from there. So you don't actually need Spotify Premium to use Spoticast at all.

If you have a Windows laptop or PC that you can use, the Stream What You Hear app lets you stream sound from your PC to Groove Music on your Xbox, so with that switched on you can play music from Spotify and hear it on your Xbox. This has a slight delay
but since it's just music that doesn't matter too much.
