Xbox audio extremely glitchy

I have the original xboxone and as of tonight the audio has been all over the place. I've changed the HDMI cord, switched headphones, restarted the xbox, checked that the audio settings were right, and changed controllers. None have helped.

The audio sounds like distorted or glitched versions of the sounds that were previously played like an explosion. I know it's not the game since it's happened on all the games I've played as well as affecting my friends in a party's voices.

I'm not sure if it's due to Apex having an update as I heard that can be an issue but if it isnt, any other ways to fix it? I can't play anything as it's too annoying to always unplug my mic to gave 30 seconds of clear audio before it distorts again. Thank

Did it happen on any other games? I was playing Apex last night and the audio was a bit buggy whilst playing without the full update downloaded.

Hi there, can you try another headset or even headphone? perhaps your headset may be faulty

Try checking to see if there is an update for your console. If it is up to date check for any updates to you your controller. If you use a wireless headset check for an update there as well. I experienced an issue similar to what you're explaining and it
was a simple update issue for my control. I use a wired headset.

How is your audio set up? Are you using a headset/base-docking station headset or are you using an amplifier connected to your console?

I use a wired headset plugged into my controller. My controller is then plugged into the console but it can be wireless. I just usually keep it plugged in. The audio is set up to go through the hdmi so whatever that means lol.
