Xbox apps-update in progress error

The last couple days I've had an issue where if I try to open any app I get pop up screen stating 'Update in progress'. And it won't let me progress any further through the app, so I have to close the app.

I've checked the updater page on my Xbox and there's no updates available for the apps giving me this error message. All the updates are installed for the latest versions of the apps and the Xbox itself.

I've tried restarting the console a couple times and it hasn't helped. The troubleshooter recommends uninstalling and reinstalling the apps that are having the issue however I really don't want to have to do that for every single one on my console. Can you please give me some advice on a solution for this problem?

Try to turn off the console, and unplug the power cord, then wait for 1 to 2 minutes to plug it back in and turn on the console!

If the issue persists, I would strongly suggest trying the troubleshooting steps below:

Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate Mac Address > Clear

Then select System > Settings > devices and streaming > blue ray > persistent storage > clear three times > restart console.

If the issue keeps on happening, try to soft reset the console by; Settings > System > Console Info > Reset This Xbox > Reset and Keep my Games and Apps.

It’s just apps. My games don’t do this. No error code. Hard wired in. No Xbox updates. No app updates. Just select app and automatically it says update in progress. I see this isn’t the first time for Xbox. I have to delete my app and download each time again every time I start my console up.

Title says it all. The app will not install, will not prompt for UAC, does not show any semblance of progress. This is infuriating.

I'm updated to Version 2004, build 19041.508.

Same issue here. I just updated to Windows 10 x64 version 2004, build 19041.508. Previously, I was getting a different error, although I don't recall the unhelpful 8-digit error code - it was different (I was on version 1903) and figured it would probably
fix itself if I installed all the latest updates. :-/

When I try to install the app:

1) It first prompts to accept the license terms. Check the box and click the Install button.

2) It briefly shows the install progress "Making things awesome"

3) It then shows the error: "Looks like something went wrong" "We weren't able to install the app (0x80190194)".

Regarding Movies & TV app, will not start states "update in progress" on my Xbox One but there aren't any updates as I checked. Yet this app works on pc. Any help would be appreciated - thanks

The website hasn't been updated yet to accomodate Xbox One progress, it will be worked on and in the mean time, the Smartglass app can be used as an alternative.
