Xbox App/Windows 10 Game DVR Upload Issue: "We don't recognize the game."

When trying to upload certain games, an error prompt informs me that the game is not recognized. After searching around for a solution, I found that certain games do not have the proper tags. The only work-around solution I could find was to find a game
that had valid tags and copy those. The end result is a clip uploaded to XBOX LIVE with an incorrect name.

You can see from this image, the game is clearly NOT World of Warcraft.

This has been a problem for a few years now, judging by my pro internet search findings. Maybe we could get some help by listing the game tags somewhere, or even better, fixing the bad tagging bug in the first place.

Fortnite PC not uploading to xbox dvr

I can't upload my screenshots and clips of fortnite to xbox dvr from the win 10 xbox app. Windows and Xbox is fully updated. the error is "We do not recognize this game"

Hello, I'm unable to upload and share edited Game DVR clips in the Xbox App on Windows 10 to Xbox Live. App crashes each time 99 % of the clip is uploaded.

All you have to do is go into the poperties of your game DVR file you are trying to upload. Go into Details and change the tag to be the Exact name of the game you were playing. It has to be exact. PUBG would be PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. It will fix
issue with it not being able to recognize the game you are trying to upload via windows 10 on xbox.

There are several factors why you can't upload videos, it may be due to corrupted data of your Xbox App or your system needs to be updated.

If you have a mobile game clip what you've recorded to your phone using a screen capture app or something like that, you can't upload that video to Xbox Live.

Sorry, but that's not the way it works. You can download, edit and upload back
to Xbox Live only those game clips that
you’ve recorded with the Game DVR feature.

Step 1: Upload the video to Xbox Live (what you want to edit)

Step 2: Once it's uploaded to the Xbox Live, download it to your Win10 PC via Xbox App

Step 3: Edit, trim and save the new game clip

Step 3: Upload your edited video back to Xbox Live
