    Xbox App: "We can't show your friends right now. Try refreshing the app."


    Just started getting this today.

    Yes, I've reinstalled the app.

    Yes, the app is up to date.

    Yes, manual proxy was turned off.

    Yes, I requested to join a club.

    Yes, I've restarted the PC and signed in/out.

    Why did this randomly stop working? How do I fix this?

    Xbox App will not show friends or clubs

    Since a few weeks ago (maybe the clubs update) my Xbox App on windows 10 will not show my friends list. It gives the prompt "We can't show your friends right now. Try refreshing the app." But after countless refreshes, uninstalling and reinstalling it still
    does not show my friends. Is there a fix for this?

    Hello,

    For many, many months now (5+) the Xbox App on Windows 10 tell me this when I click on the "Friends" section:

    "We can't show your friends right now. Try refreshing the app. Something went wrong."

    Upon refresh, restart, computer restart, hard restart, all other possible methods, etc., nothing has fixed this.

    Hey there!

    There was a service outage for social & gaming earlier so that could have been the problem. Log in and out and try again.

    I can't believe it that this workaround actually works...

    Just have a friend open a random club, request an invite (no need to accept it) and follow it. Problem solved. If you cancel the request, your friendlist will be bugged again.

    Thanks to Dale T19 for this "fix".

    Thank you for your response. Have you tried to re-add your account? If this did not fix the problem, we suggest that you uninstall and reinstall the Xbox app on your computer. Please follow the instructions below:

    1. Type Windows Powershell in search box.    

    2. Right click on Windows Powershell and select Run as administrator.    

    3. Copy and paste the following command.         

    get-appxpackage *Microsoft.XboxApp* | remove-appxpackage 

    4. Press Enter key. After uninstalling the Xbox app, we suggest you to download and install the app again and check.

    You can download the Xbox app from the following link.



    Don't forget to let us know how it turns out.
    I've tried all that you have mentioned above, but still have the same ongoing issue. Still says "We can't show your friends right now. Please try again"
