    Xbox App vs New installation of Windows 11


    New installation of Windows 11, the xbox app won't download any game, saying I'm missing a game service. I have downloaded the service and it still says it is missing. No outages are reported at the time of issue.

    I have:

    • Installed a clean version of Windows 11 from Internet via Windows RE
    • Tried to reset the service,
    • Reset and repair the Xbox app,
    • Reset the store via WSReset
    • Manually install via Powershell
    • Manually removed Registry Keys
    • Deleted and restored .gamingroot
    • Reinstalled Windows 11 (Clean, no files retained)

    Windows 11 - XBox App and Xbox Game Pass - Unable to install any game (error 0x00000001)

    I've tried a new VM, I could only download a Windows 11 ARM VHDX.

    So I tried to downgrade it to Windows 10 just after installation but it failed.

    So I will wait a patch of the Xbox app for Windows 11 ARM.

    Of course. Why not.

    The Xbox app Game Pass App is going to come pre-installed on Windows 11, and Microsft want users to connect their controllers trouble free to the new OS.

    The biggest issue would be to check if your PC is compatible for Windows 11, not your controllers.

    In any event, Win 11 won't suddenly make Win 10 obsolete.

    The Xbox App is already built into Windows 11 and therefore can not be installed.

    Does it not show load if you search for 'Xbox' in the Windows 11 search box?

    1. did you upgrade or clean install

    2. have you checked in the store for updates as the store and xbox app will have new updates
