Xbox App Updates Stuck, Application has no method to resolve or fix issue.

Xbox app is horrible. Not only are the downloads notably slower than any other game launcher available, but the app will simply stay stuck at 0 B/S and will not start downloading after:

- Waiting for a long period of time

- Resetting the windows store

- Resetting game services

- Resetting the Xbox app

- Rebooting the computer

- Updating all of the divers and windows itself

- Uninstalling and reinstalling the Xbox app

- Various PowerShell commands related to resetting/redownloading game services/Microsoft store/Xbox app.

I honestly am considering unsubscribing from Game Pass because the application literally prevents me from installing and playing games. I can't even cancel the download and reinstalling the Xbox app puts the download status where it was before uninstalling. It really sucks to have arranged to play games with my friends, only to have them play without me because I had to troubleshoot the app and didn't buy Halo on steam. This level of incompetence is unacceptable from the company who makes the OS it runs on.

It should also be noted this issue is reoccurring and I will have to troubleshoot every few weeks or months and will resolve itself periodically when there is a patch or something. But I shouldn't be inclined to wait days or weeks until it fixes itself every time when I pay for a service.

If anyone knows a more permanent solution or fix, please let me know.

I had the same issues, did everything and it did not fix it. my resolution tho,

It created a file in the xbox games library and it wouldn’t let me delete it because of admin permission, I changed those and then it said the folder was running in another app.

All I had to do was change permissions and launch in windows safe mode and it let me delete the file then the download started working

More troubleshooting steps I have taken:

Restored device to a point prior to the game being downloaded (3 days prior). When attempting to download the game, the progress is still stuck on the download progress prior to restoring the computer. Further, after waiting for about an hour, the download speed was still stuck at 0 B/S. Deleting the temporary/existing files, restarting the Xbox app, game services, and the Microsoft store waiting, and waiting another half an hour did not solve the issue. Lastly, I was still unable to launch any games I had purchased or had access to via Game Pass from the Xbox app.

Resolution:

I wiped the primary partition (C

of the computer. After 5-10 minutes after starting the download, there were no more issues.

I have this same issue...did all the updates and resets xbox support instructed...ended up taking my xbox back under warranty and it did not fix the issue with the xbox accessories app.

This is an serious problem seeing as its an application issue or an update server issue.

This is not fixed.

Very disappointed in the app seeing as its the only source besides the windows 10 app which has issues too to manage the controller settings.

150 dollar product and lack luster application support. Going to be needing a fix soon or I see a loss in the future for xbox community support.

Hello Mister Mascot!

The latest Xbox (beta) update to version 27.27.10006.00000 has resolved this issue. The main Xbox app still suffers from this but I bet it will be fixed when it updates!
