    Xbox app to recognize already installed game


    Hi,

    I just installed a fresh clean windows 11 right now ,

    i had halo infinite on my old windows , i copied it .and now i want my Xbox app,windows to recognize that i have it and not download it from the begging , i joined the insider program, tried to install the game then pause ,then copy my previous game to the new location ,but it won't recognize it and it will always start from the beginning

    Moving Xbox Game Pass games to a different PC

    With the latest Xbox app update you can install the games to a different drive. With that, I haven't tested that, but you might be able to then use that on another computer? You might need to initialize the install in the app for it to recognize that
    it's already on that drive? That's untested on my end, but I think worth a shot for troubleshooting.

    Hi SirSwish83,

    as I know you can change the default storage at the XBOX (Beta) App in Settings. But I do not think, that the app will recognize already installed games. I think you have to redownload them. (Maybe I am wrong)
