Xbox app stuck on checking for updates and preparing 0%

Alternatively, try to turn on airplane mode, restart PC, then turn off airplane mode and connect back to your network.

I see. If that fails, try downloading the game via Minecraft launcher. You can download the launcher through the Microsoft Store app, Xbox app, and the Mojang website. After installing the launcher, log in with your Microsoft account and download Microsoft Dungeons.

In the meantime, after that 30 minute wait on "Preparing 0%" the game actually started downloading, but it got stuck at 100%. So after about 20 minutes at 100% I decided to close the XBOX app process and reopen the app. Then the game started installing so I let it do it's thing, but I couldn't launch it, so it was still not working (the game we're talking about is Minecraft Dungeons, if that makes any difference). Then I saw your reply and proceeded to uninstall the game and do the things you mentioned. I took ownership of the folder "WpSystem" from its' properties and renamed it just as you asked. Then I changed the new app install path from my SSD to my hard disk under advanced storage settings. Now, I opened the XBOX app and queued the game to install to my Hard Disk (where I also renamed the folder). Right now I'm again stuck at "Preparing 0%, but I'll wait again like the last time and hope it will launch this time (if it actually gets installed).

I also need to mention that I have other games on my SSD that I installed previously, which work just fine. In the past I also had games installed on the hard disk, so the WindowsApps folder is present on both my drives. Also I don't know if I should mention, but I tried installing games on both drives, none of them work.
