xbox app sign in window keeps closing

To switch Xbox account on Windows 11, try the following steps:

Close the Xbox app.

Go to Windows Settings.

Click on Accounts.

Select Email & accounts.

Click on the Microsoft account associated with the Xbox app.

Click on Manage.

Click on Remove.

Re-add the Microsoft account you want to use.

Launch the Xbox app and sign in with the new account.

If the above steps don't work, you can also try clearing the Xbox app's cache by following these steps:

Close the Xbox app.

Go to Windows Settings.

Click on Apps.

Find the Xbox app and click on it.

Click on Advanced options.

Click on Reset.

Launch the Xbox app and sign in with the new account.

These steps should help you switch Xbox accounts on Windows 11.

for me the xbox beta PC app will open and when I click sign in, it signs me in with the correct account, and then I close the pop up window and the app is not signed in. I can hover over the sign in drop down and do it 500 times but it never actually lets
me sign in.

ive done all of these yet it still wont let me sign into either the xbox app or microsoft store, the sign in buttons do nothing, a window opens for about a millisecond then it closes again

I have the same problem as OP, tried resetting/reinstalling XboxApp, using the link provided by a dev in another thread to make sure I had the right XboxApp, nothing works,
as soon as I use my mouse wheel to scroll up or down whenever I MOUSE OVER any of the game on the front page , XboxApp closes, funny thing is the app doesn't crash, it just closes and it's still in my apps in system tray.

Game pass is great and all, but if I can't access the app itself, not sure if I'll keep using it :/

I made a short video, hopefully that helps identify the issue, note that during the video, I realized the issue doesn't happen as much when the app is set to full screen, but happens consistently when it's a smaller window. It does feel like the app crashes
when loading too many web elements in one go, could be wrong though.

EDIT: After messing around with the store some more, the issue happens consistently whenever I
MOUSE OVER any of the game on the front page, hopefully that helps in fixing this issue. I also uploaded another video on youtube for clarity.

When I open the xbox app it says connecting and does not stop,and when i close the window it says "we cant sign you i right now" error 0x40b
