Xbox app sees Xbox One console, but doesn't connect

The Xbox app on PC sees the Xbox one console, but when I try to connect, it says "We couldn't connect to your console. Make sure your console is still on and connected to the same network as your device." I have restarted the PC and the Xbox, as well as
the WiFi network they are both connected to. I have unplugged the Xbox One power brick for two minutes to no avail. I have looked in forums and a few other people seem to have this problem, but none of them have found a solution. I am just at a loss here.

At one time I had the same problem.

I renamed my Xbox to something different and it started working.

I do have multiple XB's and they all have a different name.

Thank you for your response. How exactly would I go about uninstalling the app? When I right-click on it and go to settings, the uninstall button is grayed out. I also don't see anything about it in the app itself.

Thank you for your response. I had forgotten to mention that I had never been able to add it, it has done this from the very beginning.

Changing the Xbox console name will make it reconnect. You just have to manually do it with the app.

you could delete and reinstall the application, be sure to delete the cache
