Xbox app says i'm always offline

this problem has been pretty annoying for me and other people. I have the Xbox app on pc and it always says that I am offline for my friends but I have it so I'm showing online.

e.g. that's me online.

when I'm in a game it does show that I'm online though. its really when I'm on the desktop is showing offline.

If anyone has a solution please help me.

Should that not say Appear Online if you want your friends to see that you are online. ?

Just out of curiosity and something for you to Attempt. If you toggle offline then online again does that show that you're online? I know there is a bug that goes around where it sets you offline and maybe that's happening in the same manner. Which as
the Mod said it could you might have an outdated app

Thank you for reaching out to us on the Forums. As {Parity} has mentioned make sure that the Appear Online option has been selected this way you are appearing to your friends that you are online.

If the issue persists go ahead and make
Verify your Xbox App Version is up to date.

Please, reset your console.

You can follow these steps:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

Select Reset console.

Select Reset and keep my games & apps.
