xbox app says i need permission from a parent but im a family organizer

Are you using an Adult Account?

Your Xbox account age starts from the Date of Birth you entered when creating your profile online.

Once you hit 18, it becomes an adult account automatically. Just make sure your birthday on the account is correct.

If your Date of Birth is correct, try adding a payment method and billing information to your Microsoft Account.

Sign in to the Microsoft account you want to update.

Go to Payment & billing and select Payment options.

You can add or edit payment options here.

If that still does not work, the best course of action is to contact Support and provide the necessary information to validate your date of birth.

If you're part of a family group this is normal if your parents changed your restrictions
You need to ask to your parents or the family organizer to give you permission

This can't be bypassed

Are you authorized to buy things in Xbox Live? https://account.microsoft.com/family/

I don't have any parental controls on my Switch, and I think I can buy stuff on Xbox Live. I'm set as an organizer on the family group so I don't think there should be any issues with children's permissions.

If you're still a minor you will be needing to ask an adult or your parent to add you as a member of their family group via https://account.microsoft.com/family and they will be needing to manage it for you.

You will not be able to manage your birthdate if you're a minor.
