Xbox app remote play and Gamepass App cloud gaming not recognising my controller

It appears that you are having issue with Stadia controller that is not detected with Xbox remote play and Xbox app cloud gaming. Let us check and see on what we can do to help address your concern in a timely manner.

We would like to ask few questions to help us isolate the issue further.

1. What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

2. Is your controller detected when paired to Bluetooth?

For the meantime, here are the troubleshooting steps that we can perform:

1. Make sure Windows is up to date.

• Press the Start button on the taskbar, type settings, and then select Settings.
  
• On Windows 10, select Update & Security. On Windows 11, select Windows Update.
  
• On the Windows Update page, select Check for updates to see if any updates are available
  

including optional updates for your device.

• Once the updates have downloaded, select Install now to start the installation.
  
• Following installation, we recommend that you restart your device so that the latest updates can take effect.
  

2. Update Bluetooth driver.
Select Search on the taskbar, type for device manager, and then select Device Manager from the list of results.

1. In Device Manager, select Bluetooth, and then select the Bluetooth adapter name, which may include the word “radio.”
   
2. Press and hold (or right-click) the Bluetooth adapter, and then select Update driver > Search automatically for updated driver software. Follow the steps, then select Close.
   
3. After installing the updated driver, select Start > Power > Restart if you're prompted to restart, and then check whether that fixes the connection issue.
   

If Windows can’t find a new Bluetooth driver, visit the PC manufacturer’s website and download the latest Bluetooth driver from there.

Important: An outdated or incompatible driver is one of the most common causes of Bluetooth connection problems.

I have the same issue:

* the plain Xbox controller (non elite) connects via bluetooth to the TV and is recognised by the Xbox cloud app on my Samsung TV. I can use it to play games using the Samsung Xbox app.

* the brand new Xbox Elite Series 2 controller connects via bluetooth to the TV and is NOT recognised by the Xbox cloud app.

I tried several attempts deleting the pairing, re-pairing. Turn off TV on the power switch. Re-installing the Xbox app on the Samsung TV.

The result is always the same:

* The Xbox Elite Series 2 controller connects successfully to the TV and is shown as Paired and Connected in the Samsung TVs feature where you add external devices.
* But the Xbox app shows the yellow ! exclamation mark and does not recognise the Elite Controller.

I’ve paired my other non Elite standard Xbox controller now vie Bluetooth and USB, which works both.

Also, you don't have a way to change the setting of the Xbox Adaptive Controller on the cloud gaming with Android devices or Apple devices on the remote play or on the Xbox app.

HDMI ports on laptops tend to be HDMI out only

You download the Xbox conpanon app to wireless display or if you want remote play it or cloud stream if you have gamepass ultimate
