    Hi Everyone,

    So I've already posted this on the Windows Feedback app, but it hasn't had any traction since posting it weeks ago now so attempting another way.

    Both PC's I use often have the 'Xbox' app installed - not the companion app. Recently, since an update to the app, I'm always told I need to install various dependencies in order for the app to function correctly. I've been through it's list and 'installed'
    any it asks for - but it still continues to say they're not installed. I can't sign into the app either.

    When I've searched on Twitter, there only seems to be one other user that's publicly mentioned this issue, so I'm unsure if it's widespread or only a handful of people.

    According to the app, I'm currently missing:

    • Gaming Services
    • Xbox Identity Provider
    • Microsoft Store (which I use daily)
    • Purchase App
    • Xbox Game Bar (which I use daily)
    • Feedback Hub (which I have used recently)

    Just a bit clueless. When I look through the categories it only lists the 'Xbox beta' app as an available search term. Is this still in beta? - I can see support sections for the now discontinued Console Companion app - what's going on here?

    came home and turned on my computer and its working fine now, if i had to guess i missed an update or smthn, Thanks anyways.

    Hello Rob! I'm Kris and I'd be happy to help you with your question.

    Sorry to hear you are having this issue. I have a couple of things you can check/try.

    1. Make sure that both Windows and the Xbox app don't have any updates pending, if they do, get them downloaded.
    2. Check the Windows Service called Storage Service is running. If its running, stop it, start it then load the app again.

    Hi there, this appears to have worked. By shutting down "services" am I missing out on something that I should not be shutting down?

    Could you explain why this particular service is interfering with the xbox game app?

    Hi JamesTem, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

    On your search bar type in "services" then locate storage services, from there click stop then restart your PC.
