Xbox app on windows 10 frequent network errors

My Xbox one and windows 10 pcs are on a wired Ethernet LAN. When I test streaming I get told "Very high". Yet when I play games I get frequent network connectivity issues. Usually it disconnects and the app loses sight of the console and has to reconnect.
I am running the windows firewall are the moment as I decided bitdefender was impacting the stream. I can stream video from my NAS drive to the pcs in HD with no issue. I have tried running both the Xbox and Xbox beta versions of the app.

Can you help? It used to work well until about 6-8 weeks ago.

    :)

Teredo server connectivity is blocked on xbox app. Works fine on other devices on same network.

    Hi,

Let's isolate your case by answering the following questions:

    1. Is your Windows 10 PC connected to a wired or wireless network?

    2. Have you tried connecting your Windows 10 PC to a different network?

To help resolve connectivity issues with the Xbox app on Windows 10, check out any of the links below and perform the solutions provided:

Xbox app NAT type on Windows 10 displays "Teredo is unable to qualify"

Xbox app server connectivity on Windows 10 is blocked

    Looking forward to your response.

  3. App wont turn console on

Im having an issue with the xbox app on windows 10 and the smartglass app on ios not turning my console on. Ive tried with my Windows 10 PC (xbox app), Windows 10 laptop (xbox app) and my Ipad (smartglass app), none will power my console on, they will all
connect to it when its on and turn it off though. My Xbox is set to instant on and everything is on the same network with the same Microsoft account logged in. Any ideas?

    thanks

Xbox app on windows 10 frequent network errors

I posted this on Friday last week - I am somewhat disappointed that no support is being offered. For what it's worth, I ran a network speed test transferring a 1gb file between the computers on the network and speeds we between 400-700 Mbps.

  5. Hey there whackers1,

    Give this
    guide
a shot and see if the troubleshooting steps help out. Have you also tried to stream using just the High setting or Low setting to see if the same thing happens? Have you tried using the Xbox App BETA as well?\

    Let us know!

Mister Mascot, thanks for this, but the link to the guide does not appear to work. If it involves switching off and rebooting routers / xboxes, then I've tried that. I've tried streaming on very high, high and medium and have the same problem. I've tried
using the beta as well - it seems worse with that

  8. Xbox app on windows 10 frequent network errors

Thanks for the info, let's check a few things to narrow this down.

Run a Detailed Network Statistics test on the Xbox One console and please provide the following information.

    • Download Speed
    • Upload Speed
    • Latency
    • Packet Loss %
    • Wireless Strength (if applicable)
    • Modem Manufacturer
    • Router Manufacturer (if being used) as well as the model number

The reason we want to check this is to see if there might be a problem with the console's network connection to Xbox Live which would cause the console to go invisible on your network, since the Windows 10 PC and Xbox One are using Xbox Live at times to
discover each other. Are you also seeing the random disconnects when you play just on the console as well, or is the problem only when you are streaming through the app? Have you also tried to connect the console to the router wirelessly to see if that had
    any effect?

    Let us know!

    • Download Speed 48Mbps
    • Upload Speed 12Mbps
    • Latency 156ms
    • Packet Loss % 0%

    • Modem Manufacturer: Virgin Super Hub 2 in modem mode
    • Router Manufacturer (if being used) as well as the model number ASUS RT AC-87U
No random disconnects until Sunday night when I disconnected twice from BF1, otherwise has been stable. I have not tried connecting the console wirelessly - I could do so, but would expect this to be less stable?

  10. Thanks very much for the details,

It looks like there is a known issue
    HERE
which can cause issues with cloud based games which can cause a network timeout/unable to join session error. If you Enable IPSec Pass-Through on the Super Hub 2, does that seem to help out? We're also seeing a higher latency (150ms is recommended),
but that shouldn't affect it. The next step after that is to try and use just the Super Hub 2 with the connection to the Xbox One as opposed to the ASUS router to see if that helps the connection.

Thanks for the help. The issue you gave the link to seems to be when using the hub as a router, not just a modem? When it is in modem mode, there is no option for IPSec Pass Through. IPSec pass though is enabled on the ASUS router. I have tried swapping
out the Super Hub 2 as a router but with no improvement (or worsening).

With respect to the latency, I always assumed that was because the Xboxone test was running off a US based server and the latency was consistent with that. I get very low latency on my PCs when I ping off a London based server (usually <10ms).

  12. Thanks for the heads up on that, so when you used the Super Hub 2 as the router there was no changes correct? Did you also test this using Wi-Fi and change the settings from Very High too High or Low? I know it seems weird to try it over wireless as opposed
to wired, but we just want to make sure we check everything.
