Discus and support Xbox App on PC won't install games on certain SSD (only on C: and D:) in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; I just reinstalled Windows and now I can't install any GamePass games to D: or E: I have 3 drives installed on my PC: C, D and E, but the Xbox app...     Xbox App on PC won't install games on certain SSD (only on C: and D:)


    I just reinstalled Windows and now I can't install any GamePass games to D: or E:

    I have 3 drives installed on my PC: C, D and E, but the Xbox app just won't install games D: or E:

    All drives are NTFS format.
    Drive D is an SATA SSD (Samsung 860 Evo), and E is an SSD NVMe m.2 (Samsung 980 Pro)

    When I want to choose E: I get error 0x80070002 and when I install it on D: I get error 0x8007139f before it finishes.

    Anyone know what the problem might be? Before I reinstalled Windows today everything worked fine.

    Hi Manuela,

    I have not formatted E: and D: drives, only C: where Windows itself was installed on.

    On E: and D: I have the folders WindowsApps, XboxGames, WpSystem.

    But before that please tell me, may I know if you formatted these E: and D: drive once you reinstalled Windows?

    And, may I know if you're able to see a folder called WindowsApps, XboxGames, WpSystem or similar in these drives?

    Thanks for the information

    In this situation I can recommend you formatting these other drives as well, to avoid new conflicts

    But another option is delete the WindowsApps, XboxGames and WpSystem folders.
    And if maybe you're seeing other folders that you don't recognize, delete them too
    After that try to install content again

    While your D:\ drive has plenty of storage the same can not be said for the C:\ drive. With only 6.68GB you won't be able to install any Windows updates.

    I'm pretty sure the C:\ drive will still be utilised during the download/install process of Windows Store games. Could you try moving one or more of your apps/games from C:\ to D:\ and then try the download again?

    Unable to Install Age of Empire IV on my D drive.

    I have installed games onto my C drive multiple times however, their size was only 20gb. With age of empires 4 I require more space which my C drive simply does not have as it is an SSD with only 200gb of space.

    I do know that it can install games just not on my D drive for some reason.
