Xbox app on PC won't install games, keeps asking to install Gaming Services over and over....

So yeah after installing from the link, it opens into the xbox app then prompts to install the gaming services, but doesn't allow me to install it the game after it appears to reinstall gaming services which was already installed. Pressing the button multiple times seems to loop, as it attempts to reinstall the gaming services over and over but nothing really happens.

This started happening yesterday.

Attempted to download Outriders sat on preparing for over 4 hours. Followed all "fixes" available

• closed all apps
  
• repaired gaming services
  
• reset gaming services
  
• repaired xbox app
  
• reset xbox app
  
• uninstalled xbox app
  
• uninstalled gaming services using powershell command
  
• used wsreset on microsoft store
  
• refreshed all windows apps
  
• reinstalled xbox app which in turn installed gaming services
  

At this point the game installed - won't launch

[I followed another guide to reset permissions in storage as this had happened to another user but this did not work]

• reset PC
  

Downloaded - won't launch

• Completed full format & reinstall of windows
  
• ran all updates
  

The game eventually installed - won't launch

Tried to install hitman doesn't move from "preparing 0%"

Tried to install Doom Eternal Doesn't even appear in the library

I feel like I've exhausted all avenues - everything was working absolutely fine not 2 days ago what has caused the issue??

Try disabling ipv6 in your network settings. It's worked for me. I think that's the same reason why others report VPNs working.

Hello again: If it still doesn't work, you're going to uninstall the game services using a powershell command, then open the gamepass app, ask you to download and install the game services again:

On the Windows search bar, type Powershell > right-click and select Open as administrator > Type the command: "get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-Appxpackage –allusers" > Wait for the process to finish and then restart the PC, then open your Xbox gamepass app, ask you to reinstall the game services, install it, and try again.

If none of those procedures work, try to restore your PC's operating system via iso image tool, using that tool you will be able to keep your games and files installed

you get that error because gaming services is not installed or updated, gaming services can only install and launch on standard pc architecture and not arm based devices.

the xbox app requires gaming services to be installed to be able to download most xbox app games (gamepass games).

Go to the ready to install section on my games & apps, scroll over to the right and then use the buttons, if you don't scroll over to the right it won't work.
