Xbox app on pc very slow download speed

Leon, This problem is quite common. It means that you have configuration restrictions to access the servers.

So you just need to configure your internet devices now.

They are unconfigured, so have access restrictions, causing these errors.

If you do not have knowledge, I advise you to contact the ISP that they will do for you

set a fixed ip for the console/PC, open the ports described below, disable and enable the UPnP function and disable the modem firewall, if you have a modem and a router the process has to be done on both devices.

Put console/PC IP in DMZ zone.

Port 88 (UDP)

Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)

Port 53 (UDP and TCP)

Port 80 (TCP)

Port 500 (UDP)

Port 3544 (UDP)

Port 4500 (UDP)

You can ask ISP(Internet Service Provider) for help

We understand that you are trying to download games from Xbox app however the speed of download is slow. Let us check on this together and sort this out in timely manner.

We can provide you with troubleshooting for this however, please ensure to download games at the time where there are no other users of your internet that could be downloading heavy files as you will be expecting the connection to be slower. You may try connecting to different network too. Should you like to try the suggested troubleshooting below please check:

Method 1

If you are on Windows 10, you may want to check the bandwidth limit set to your future download and increase it. Please see this guide: Set bandwidth limits for background downloads (microsoft.com)

Method 2

Method 3

Please try to resetting TCP/IP:

In Windows search bar, search for Command Prompt and Run as Administrator.

Type netsh winsock reset and press Enter.

Type netsh int ip reset and press Enter.

Type ipconfig /release and press Enter.

Type ipconfig /renew and press Enter.

Type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.

Restart computer.

Test download a game from Xbox app.

Test download a game/app from Microsoft Store.

Also, Test download a heavy file over the internet.

actually don't bother i just immediately unsub'd, never again.

Hi XBF,

Thank you for the tips, I do note that these tips are for a actual Xbox whereas I use PC Xbox App. So definitely no games running. My brother uses actual Xbox in our house and his speeds are fine, over 30 mb/s it only seems to be the PC Xbox app that is slow at downloading (as noted I download games from Steam on same PC and speed is fine). Any recommendations?
