Xbox App on PC Party Muted?

the double audio im hearing is coming from the companion app on my pc that im using to stream from my xbox. its not from streamlabs. im getting the audio from my xbox and my pc via the companion app. but im using the companion app to use party chat to
talk. so i cannot mute it because it then mutes the party chat audio and im not able to hear my party.

if you are using game bar sometimes it will do that when the bar is closed while playing a game or doing anything else. i think your best bet for a party would be to use xbox console companion. i have yet to have a problem with party chats when using that.

Actually I did nothing to change my NAT type and the NAT type is open and i am experiencing the same thing on the windows console companion app. All my hardware is properly connected, my NAT type is open, but for some reason I am still "Meta muted" in parties.
My microphone activates and shows I'm talking, and it says im connected to the party, but I can't hear my pals and they can't hear me. A couple of times while trying to troubleshoot this problem, I even joined and heard them talking in the party for 1 to 2
seconds. then It cuts out.

The problem started when I got on the app and tried to join a party, but it errored out because it said it needed an update. I said okay fine, closed the app and went to the microsoft store and updated it. reopened the software and
this problem I've been talking about happened. I think it has something to do with this most recent update. I've been searching everywhere I can online. But unfortunately the first 2 pages of the google search are plastered with Microsoft xbox support forums
and they seem to be lacking in information on my specific problem.

Respectfully, it might actually be a NAT type thing. Chat uses a separate network connection from other game communication, and opens a different port through your router. I have had problems in the past with my router filling up its routing table and making
things like chat not work, while gameplay worked fine. Rebooting the router has fixed this for me. Have you tried rebooting your router?

The best way I've found to share my party chat from my xbox to a stream or game recording, is having a secondary account logged in on my Xbox Companion App on my PC, and joining the party chat with that. just remember to mute its mic.
