    Xbox app on PC not working correctly


    I've spoken to 4 representatives about this problem and am now turning to the community for assistance.

    As the subject states, my Xbox app had not been functioning properly. By this, I mean that the app will open and run, but ONLY the outline of the UI appears. I can hover, highlight, and click on things, but everything is transparent. This problem arose
    after the recent update, which was about a week ago. From what I have read, the Xbox app should have a new UI with the update; my app shows the outline of the old UI.

    I've tried several solutions to fix this problem but to no avail. This includes, resetting, repairing, reinstalling the app. I thought the problem would be fixed after I realized my Windows was out of date, but post-update and reinstall, the app is still
    yet to work.

    I'm not sure what else to do from this point. I want the issue fixed, as I have the gamepass. I'd also like to add that the games I already had downloaded prior to the update still function normally.

    The idea of clearing my hard drive and reinstalling Windows OS was brought up (due to the possibility of corrupted files), but I do not want to do this.

    Thanks for the reply.

    The messages work correctly on my Xbox One X, and the messages show up correctly on account.xbox.com.

    I have tried loading the messages on the (PC) Xbox app on two different devices, my desktop and my laptop. Both of them fail to load the messages.

    Interestingly the (Mobile) Xbox app on my phone loads the conversations successfully, so it only seems to be affecting the desktop app.

    However the (PC) app does work with a different Xbox account, it is only affecting my main account. So I suspect my conversations have got into a weird state on the server that only the (PC) Xbox app is unable to handle correctly.

    Check if you are correctly logged on Microsoft Store App and Xbox App (beta) with the account that have Xbox Game Pass PC subscription.

    There is sometimes an issue with the windows app and the console app not syncing correctly. A similar thing happens with the join party chat on the desktop app and console. i.e. if you join from pc it doesn't work from console.

    Do a basic test, and try connecting the controller to another device, such as another PC, console, or cell phone. See if it still doesn't work.

    If it doesn't work, it really means that something internally has been damaged, and repair will be necessary.
