Xbox app on PC not working as intended, not downloading the game I want.

I would like to start this off with saying that this was probably 100% my fault, I was a idiot and tried restarting my computer while it was downloading. Anyways, I am downloading the game from the Xbox app I realize it is downloading very slowly, so I make the mistake of restarting my computer while its downloading in a attempt to make it go faster, when my computer starts my Xbox app pretends the game is not there. It shows up in my library but it does not let me interact with it in any way. I tried to delete the game through the app with the purpose of reinstalling it, but nothing happens, my hard drive still says it is full(from the game), and it still appears in my library. Any help would be appreciated. Also, I would like to say that I am currently on a bootcamped mac, I don't think this information is necessary but you never know. I will provide screenshots and any other info if needed. Thanks!

Solution 1: Disk Clean up

locate the Windows Search bar on your taskbar and type "Disk cleanup," and click it
You will then see a pop-up menu of your Windows C: drive
You and Scroll-down should see the things taking up space on your hard-drive
Make sure you click on the box, and everything is checked marked
Then click "OK."
This will clean up your hard drive

It should give you back some of that lost hard drive space.

Solution 2: Reset Windows 10 store & Xbox app

1. Open Settings.

2. Go to Apps -> Apps & features.

3. Look for Microsoft Store/Xbox App and click it on the right side.

4. The advanced options link will appear. Click it

5. Next, click on the Reset button to reset Microsoft Store/Xbox App to the default setting.

Reinstall the game and see if this resolves the problem.

Solution 3: Try reinstalling the Gaming Services package on your Windows 10 device:

Right-click the Start button in the lower-left corner of the main screen, and then select Windows PowerShell (Admin).
In the Administrator: Windows PowerShell screen, type the following command and press Enter:
Get-AppxPackage *gamingservices* -allusers | remove-appxpackage -allusers

Why is it the Xbox version? I paid for minecraft years and years ago, downloaded/installed from the the web on this PC and to my knowledge never intended to use the Xbox app for minecraft.

works different on pc.

log into each ones accounts that are set on the pc, open the xbox app, log out of the app and in with your account, download whichever games they want then log out of the app and back in with their account, do this for each kid and they can then play fine, game sharing is only available for console but this is the work around for pc and has worked this way for years.

I have this problem on my Windows 11 gaming laptop.

The menu works as intended after running the powershell script, but game download is halted due to error at 5%.

Reinstalling gaming services after running the powershell script just breaks the menu again.

The app works fine on my Windows 10 work pc. (doesn't meet Windows 11 requirements)

Okay. You mentioned that you want to want to purchase games in the console before.

Anyways for PC, can you instead download Xbox App, either from Microsoft Store or from this link: https://www.xbox.com/apps/xbox-app-for-pc

You can link you Xbox account with you PC using the Xbox App. You can then download and access games from there.
