Xbox app on PC not showing game I am playing

Whenever I launch a game on PC it will just show up as that I am 'online' and not playing a game. I have tried multiple different games and it still shows nothing. When I open game bar while in the game it recognizes the game but it refuses to show the status to my friends. I have tried resetting, reinstalling, just about everything to try to make it work. Any suggestions?

Have you already checked your account privacy settings if they’re correctly setup?

I have checked all the privacy settings and they all allow others to see my activity. If I had to guess this problem started occurring about a month ago.

Yes, I normally plays games on my PC. Yes I have game pass, but I am not trying to play any games from game pass. The app doesnt show ANY of my owned games, I am trying to see if my Call of Duty Modern Warfare showed as I wanted to try to play it through
the app before I had to buy the game again for PC.

So it will not show my friends when i am playing a PC game that is on steam via the Xbox app. Because that is what he is saying within the video above, if you go to 1:52 on the YouTube video then you will see what i am talking about. He clearly mentions
the steam app and how your Xbox Live friends will be able to see what game you are playing via the Xbox app.
