Xbox app on PC no longer allows party invites or creation?

After this last weeks xbox app update where they removed the xbox console companion app I am no longer able to start xbox live parties or invite my friends to one. It only works through the xbox game bar into a private chat that works half of the time
with one person in it. Any word on this missing functionality being added back?

That is interesting. I haven't ran into this issue yet but I would definitely contact Xbox Support about it.

This happens with me as well. It might have something to do pc xbox networking with nat type and server connectivity being different with a new app. But yeah create a party or join a party button does nothing lol

Xbox companion app is discontinued, and the "Party Invitations" and "Games" notification settings are nonexistent in the Xbox PC app. Settings for invites and messages are all on the Game Bar app for PC.

You'll just have to make sure these settings are checked after reinstalling the game bar @ (Game Bar)Settings>Notifications>Xbox Social>Notify me when I'm invited to a party or multiplayer game

You need the preview dashboard app to invite friends now, as the preview registration app no longer allows invites.

If you don't have it, you can request it in the preview forums.

Hey there

Has far has i understand it the companion app old name xbox app doesnt have party chat or notes for some things like game invites and party invites these are now done though game bar.

The app itsself is a compaion app for things like streaming too PC checking the store messages
