Xbox App Notifications are being sent to someone else

Are you using the Xbox app on mobile? Which operating system?

If it's on iOS, please reinstall your Xbox app. On Android, you may press & hold the Xbox app icon > App info > Storage > Clear cache and data.

This is not an individual problem. It is a Microsoft problem, as I noticed the same problem at the same time you did. No console or phone app notifications when favorite friends sign on



I cleared caches on phone, turned settings off and on on both,, checked for outages, rechecked the notifications were selected, restarted console/phone, etc. No changes have been made by someone else. NOTHING resolves the problem.

I checked with my friends as well, and they are also not getting notifications. I have sent two feedback issues through the app as well reporting this. Hopefully this is resolved soon.

Sorry to hear it. Xbox is aware of the problem and have announced that a notification should be sent to you from within either the Xbox Companion App or the Beta App for Gamepass

A couple weeks ago, I stopped getting notifications through the Xbox app (iOS) and my Series X when my favorited friends come online. I’ve verified that the settings for those notifications to be sent are on in both places and I’ve even tried removing and reinstalling the mobile app to no avail.

It supports messages. It supports person-to-person messages, one-on-one chat. What it doesn't support is Group Messaging, which is what the Game Bar is for. The problem isn't with the Console Companion or Game Bar, it's with how the messages are being sent
through the Notifications app (in the lower right hand corner of any PC) and how message notifications are endlessly repeating, both in the Notifications window, and the pop-ups that slide in from the right side of the screen.
