1. Xbox app not recognizing my xbox 360 controller (wireless) but I've been playing games with it?

My PC is on windows 11. I have my Xbox 360 controller connected via the 'Xbox 360 wireless receiver for windows' the controller works fine for all games, I have just completed the Halo Master Chief collection with it and wanted to move on to Halo 5 Guardians on the cloud streaming platform on the app.

To do this it says connect an Xbox controller, the Xbox controller is already connected and I can see it is connected in my settings under devices (This is not done via Bluetooth). I don't know if this makes a difference or not (that might just be the problem but I'm not sure). It seems odd that I can play every single game I have downloaded on my PC but when it comes to streaming games on the Xbox app it does not work.

I have previously looked for the solution online before coming here as to not waste any time and effort of one of your team however, all efforts have been useless. I have updated everything to the current version on both windows and the Xbox app and restarted my PC, disconnected the receiver and the controller; closed the app down and nothing seems to work. When i click the 'Add Device' button on the devices settings tab it does not recognize that there is an Xbox controller as I do not have Bluetooth installed as an option with my PC.

If anyone can help I would be greatly appreciative as I really want to play Halo 5. I would buy it were it available however, it apparently is the only game out of the Halo series that is not available to buy on the PC.

    :)

xbox 360 controller not working on PC

Is the controller a wireless controller or wired? If it is wireless, how are you connecting it? If by using the play & charge kit, then the Xbox 360 controller will not work, as the cable is only recognized on PC for charging only. You need to use a Xbox
360 Wireless adapter for PC to connect a wireless Xbox 360 controller to your PC.

Xbox app streaming not (any longer) supports two controllers ?

    Welcome to the party!

The issue is not the App but the Xbox itself. That behavior has been there since the last Xbox system update (May 21st), but it seems that no one in MS cares about it...

I have the same problem too, two Win 10 Pcs exhibit the same problems, hell even the Android Beta App does on my phone!

I have two 360 controllers rigged by 360 wireless receiver for windows, two bone controllers by USB cable.

The App will only recognize the first connected controller, usually "player 1" on the 360 controller pairs.

Steam detects everything fine, all the controllers appear using joy.cpl and their inputs are correct. All games on my PC play fine with the 4 controllers, the streaming app will only recognize one when a stream is established.

I've factory defaulted my Xbone, I've upgraded firmware, I've done pretty much everything shy of buying a brand new PC and installing Windows 10 to it (my 2nd windows Pc was brand new and never used streaming before this).

Beta version of the app has the same problem.

I thought it was related to the Windows 10 anniversary/creators update, but it obviously wasn't.

There appears to be a problem in the current version of the App where it is no longer recognizing multiple controllers on the PC, the Beta version has the same problem.

How did you figure out it was a system update? And I assume there is no obvious way to implement a rollback?
Because I've tried with 2 different PC's, one with last updates and the other one withouth them, and both are acting the same way.

Plus, this post was opened 1 day after the last Xbox update, and since then, there's been a bunch of Xbox Win10 App and the problem still persists.

Added to that, the Win10 App recognizes perfectly all the controllers; you can control the app itself with all of them, the problem is only when streaming.

Connecting xbox 360 controller for use on PC
I have a wireless controller and the PC recognizes "Xbox 360 controller via play & charge kit"
That's just for charging. There's no data sent over the Play & Charge cable. You'll either need a Wireless Gaming Receiver,
    or a wired controller.
