Xbox app/Microsoft Store Gamepass problems - can't install games

For context:

I have a Microsoft account with a Gamepass Ultimate subscription;

That same account is the one I use on Windows 10, the Microsoft Store and the Xbox app;

Starting this week, my Xbox app is not recognizing my account as having Gamepass subscribed, as well as other issues. Everytime I open the app the left panel shows a "Content failed to load" error, and there's a notification telling me "You are not signed into the Microsoft Store.".

I am though, and if I click the link to fix it, I get this error:

If I launch the Microsoft Store, all I see is that I'm already logged in with the proper account. I've tried removing the account from both places, adding it again, resetting the Xbox app, reinstalling it, to no avail. It simply doesn't recognize my account properly and acts as if I'm not subscribed to Gamepass.

EDIT: After trying to install a Gamepass game through the Microsoft Store, I get this error:

I'm currently unable to install any Gamepass games.

I already tried all those steps and some more (resetting both apps, removing and reinstalling theme, logging out and back in, running the Windows Store apps Troubleshooter, resetting the Windows Store Cache) to no avail. I'm not sure what else to do but reinstall Windows 10 - although this shouldn't be necessary just to be able to play my Gamepass games.

You don't need to install anything to have gamepass. Once you purchase it, it is automatically put on your account. If you want to play games on the PC, goto the Microsoft Store, and find the game that is on game pass, then select install from the game
store page. If you want to install the Xbox beta app, then just install that from the store as well.

if you have gamepass pc or gamepass ultimate then you should be able to download those games. is the windows install fully up to date and is there any updates waiting in the microsoft store app.

the xbox app and windows store puts most games into a encrypted folder which is locked to the one windows installation, you have to redownload all windows gamepass/store games again, microsoft went this route instead of the other launchers.

can you log into the game pass ultimate app on your phone or goto the Microsoft store on a computer and look for a gamepass game, be logged into the Microsoft account that has the gamepass ultimate and see if you can install a game via either of those
methods
