xbox app log in

I have just brought a new laptop and I am trying to log into the xbox app that is already installed to the laptop, however, it wont let me log into my account. It does not give me the option to change account and keeps signing me into a random account.
how do I change account as it's driving me up the wall!!!?

Wait...you use his log in, at your house? Isn't there something in the TOS about not using TV apps outside of your house?

I used to have Time Warner and we weren't allowed to use the phone app or the Xbox 360 app outside of the house.

can you check if you can sign out via the Settings within the Xbox App it should show a Sign out option. As shown here:

Also be sure to check what account is shown when you sign in at Xbox.com is it the account you expect or is it that random account?

If it is that random account then please double check the email address used to sign in, if you are 100% sure it's the correct account then for some reason there are two Xbox Live Accounts connected to the same Microsoft Account (which shouldn't be possible)
the best thing to do in such situation is to contact Xbox Support via Phone or Microsoft Support Chat at
Contact Us | Xbox Support so they can advise the next steps to take.

If you are able to sign in to your actual account after signing out of the current account in the Xbox App, then you might also want to check what account is signed in at the Store app.

I'd like to also add that if you are getting a different account than you wanted, and you have the right account signed in on an Xbox One, you can check what email loads into your gamertag by going to the page
Sign-in, security & passkey. which you can find following
these steps. If you're signed into the correct account, the email will post there.
