    Xbox App keeps shutting down and will not connect to XB1


    As of today, my Xbox app keeps shutting down if I leave it on the home page. If I go to a different page it will stay open but it will not connect to my Xbox one. I have checked for updates, reset the app, went through all the troubleshooting steps list
    on both the App and Xbox support pages.

    Both my PC an Xbox One are wired into the same router. I have reset my router also.

    Major Issues Since Latest Update

    Ever sense the September update my Xbox keeps shutting down on its own when I watch videos from any app and Xbox video. This is a day one Xbox and I never had a problem with it before.

    Are XBOX services discontinued across devices (PCs, tablets, and phones) running Windows 8.1?

    That part I understand. So why is the XBOX Games app working for the phone and not for the Windows 8.1 PC or tablet? At least they should have shut everything down across the board or shut down the ability to access XBOX achievements on the phone as well
    as the Games app there and keep the Windows 8.1 version running.

    I just did some searching.. seems like if A: you are watching TV, the XB1 thinks you are active and will not shut down B: using netflix, the XB1 thinks you are active and will not shut down.. try setting to your home screen and walk away for an hour....

    Hi Michele,

    I'm sorry to hear that. Does it only happen with games or if you open up anything in general the Xbox Shuts off?

    Follow these steps to reset your power supply unit:

    1. Unplug the cables from the console, wall outlet, and power supply itself.
    2. Wait 30 seconds.
    3. Plug it back in and power on the Xbox.

    If that doesn't solve the problem, I would recommend for you to try this: Xbox One
    Power Supply Solution.     Let us know how it goes.
