Xbox app just stays on the loading screen.

Does the app need an update?

The ugly fact of the matter is the Xbox App needs to maintenance. It does have a lot of trouble on mobile and even had trouble on the PC. I would say continue to uninstall and reinstall in on occasion as the Xbox App Team continues to work on it and optimize
the app itself. The logistics of being able to interact with a console account from another platform is probably still having the rough edges smoothed out!

To restore the Xbox app:

Press the Windows key + I on your keyboard to open the Settings app.

Click on "Apps" or "Apps & features" from the Settings menu.

In the Apps & features window, scroll down or use the search bar to locate the Xbox app.

Click on the Xbox app and select the "Advanced options" link.

In the Advanced options window, scroll down and click on the "Reset" button. This will restore the Xbox app to its default settings.

To repair the Xbox app:

Open the Settings app again using the Windows key + I shortcut.

Click on "Apps" or "Apps & features" from the Settings menu.

Scroll down or search for the Xbox app in the Apps & features window.

Click on the Xbox app and select the "Advanced options" link.

In the Advanced options window, scroll down and click on the "Repair" button. This will initiate the repair process for the Xbox app.

Also just to add even after updating the Xbox game pass app is not launching for me. Stays at loading screen with Xbox symbol and doesn't change. Hopefully these can be fixed in the coming days if you are reading Xbox support staff
