    A couple things I would try:

    • See if you can click on "Settings" and then sign out of your account and try to sign back in
    • Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app for a start and see if that helps.
    • See if there is an "Xbox (Beta)" app in the App Store, and try installing that and see if it gives you errors.

    Another thing to check is see for any issues listed at either account.microsoft.com or enforcement.xbox.com that might be leading to issues with your account.

    Do you have any problems logging into Xbox.com or on a console?

    I would just go to privacy settings and change it to make messaging enabled. You might want to use your Xbox One to change that.
