Xbox App ignored a previous game installation and started downloading all over again after...

I have bought the game pass for PC. Downloaded the app about 4 times now. signed up for windows insider to get all the upgrades ect ect ect. And I still cant log into the xbox app ..When I download a game it's stuck at press start. Nothing happens. Tried
several different games. Rolled windows back to previous version..Installed the app again. Same problem over and over ??

Delete all the WoT game content on your xbox. Go to system settings, select storage, select your harddrive; then find the World of Tanks folder in the games and apps main folder. Highlight it and press Y. and then delete. Afterwards download the game from
marketplace and let it install all the game files fresh.

Alternatively, if you cant/dont want to install it all over again; you can try doing a defragmentation. Hold left and right bumper buttons and Y and then press start at the starting screen after you launch the game.

After much back and forth I was finally able to solve the problem. None of the suggestions found online worked for me, but once I tried to start a game that was downloaded right off the start-menu (not using the Xbox app at all) the game started and launched the web-interface linked to my Game-pass account. After signing in there, the game launched. After exiting the game, I tried to launch the X-box app again and noticed I was now able to click on the "install" components.

The component that was missing in my case was something called "game-tcup" or something like that. Once that was installed, the X-box app worked like normal again.

Managed to make it work but unfortunately none of the recommended methods work.

I purchased a digital copy from MS website and the first installation was done using Xbox. After changing my disk the Xbox installation kept failing and the game would not start. I started the download and it downloaded the initial 2GB but then nothing, game would not start...

I used a different method:

I removed all traces of the Fligh Simulator on the previous disk.

I did all the steps you recommended.

I installed the game again, but this time for the MS Store.

After the 2GB download game started and informed me that I need an 156Gb update.

Started the update, download finished but then the game started doing something that looked like it was frozen, but it was not.

About 1 hour after that the game just started... and it work fine.

The only issue is that is seems that the controls are not quite OK. It seems to have picked up my previous profile (not sure from where) but some buttons work while others don't. I'll have to see if I can somehow reset the config to the original state....
