Xbox App / Gaming Services - Consistent Problems

Why do I constantly have these issues with the xbox app? It works fine for few weeks then all of a sudden stops letting me install games, update games or launch halo infinite.

Every single time I go through the well documented steps everyone else is having to do.

- Reset/Restore Xbox App
- Reset/Restore Windows store
- Win + R 'wsreset'
- checking gaming services is running
- Reset Restore Xbox Gaming Services
- Uninstall Gaming Services in powershell (never works always gives me the error)|

Then finally I cave in and have to do an in-place upgrade of my OS.

I've been using the xbox app for about 6-7 weeks and this is the 4th time I am looking at having to do an in place upgrade of the OS to be able to install games or run halo infinte again.

Please can someone shed some light on what may actually be causing this issue as it's so frustrating.

Oh, I understand. May I know did you try to upgrade your OS too?

Windows 10 - although I think people have reported the same issue with win11.

Edit: I have added the error codes

Error when launching halo: Error code: (0x80070002)
Error when trying to install/verify any game: (0x87e00196)

Ran both DISM / RestoreHealth and SFC /scannow and restarted - issue still not resolved.

I know I can just do an in place install of the OS and it will fix the issue but I shouldn't have to re-install my operating system every 2 weeks to use the Xbox App, so I'm looking for a root cause and permanent solution - any help appreciated.

I see. If this is the case, the last resort is to format your OS or upgrade it to Windows 11. This error means the issue is on the file of your OS.

No the issue is with the buggy as hell Xbox App and gaming services - just a quick google or check on reddit will show 100s of people moaning about the exact same problem.

I know full well that formatting or an inplace upgrade fixes the issue that's why I said in my original post that I have implemented that fix multiple times previously, for the issue to re-occur just a week or 2 later.

RE-INSTALLING MY OS EVERY WEEK OR 2 IS NOT A VIABLE SOLUTION.
