    Xbox App Game Pass - Some games not installing


    I have been having issues with the Xbox App when it comes to installing some games. Half of the games I have tried to install report the error:

    Connect your storage

    The storage you were downloading to has become disconnected.

    Error code: 0x80070015

    This error only occurs when I attempt to download a game to any of my other hard drives (Y & Z), whilst my primary drive (C) has no issues as far as I can tell. However, I am unable to test all of the games as my primary drive is a small 250GB SSD and cannot
    fit much on it. The games that have had this issue currently are Halo Wars: Definitive Edition, Halo Wars 2, Sea of Thieves, Gears of War 4, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, amongst others. The only game I have been able to download onto any drive other than
    my SSD so far is Dishonoured 2.

    Things I have tried (that I can recall):

    • Resetting the Microsoft Store (including the wsreset command)
    • Uninstalling and reinstalling the Microsoft Store
    • Reinstalling the Xbox app
    • Updating Windows
    • Running SFC & DISM
    • Running CHKDSK on all of my drives

    The games seem to very slowly install each reboot (Halo Wars 2 is currently at 51.4MB installed), showing that the drive can be read by the app, it just throws an error soon after.

    After having paid for a game pass subscription for the month, this is disappointing. I am aware that the Xbox app is beta, but the Microsoft store throws the same error code.

    It sounds like you are having trouble installing games from the Xbox Game Pass on your D drive.

    Make sure that you have enough free space on your D drive to install the games.

    Check if there are any updates available for the Xbox Game Pass app and install them.

    Try resetting the Xbox Game Pass app:

    On your Xbox One console, go to "My games and apps"

    Navigate to the Xbox Game Pass app and press the "Menu" button on your controller.

    Select "Manage app" and then "Reset".

    Confirm the reset and try installing the game again.

    If none of the above steps help, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the Xbox Game Pass app. Make sure to select the D drive as the installation location when you reinstall it.

    UPDATE JANUARY 31ST: In the Game Pass Beta app, some games say "install to" and some games have the "play" button grayed out. For example, "Among Us" and "Football Manager 2022" are labeled "install to", while "Outer Wilds" and "Skyrim Special Edition" have the "play" button grayed out. The regular Game Pass app says "install to" for everything.

    You can install the Xbox Game Pass mobile app, and it will send notifications when games are leaving Game Pass and when new games arrive. If you can't install the app, you can follow Xbox Game Pass on Twitter. There is also a Game Pass section on the Home
    Dashboard of the Xbox console now where you can find this information.

    How do I remove an uninstalled game from Xbox App?

    Let me explain this further. I'm sorry for the confusion. The game was successfully uninstalled however some remnants of the game files will be on the registry of your Xbox app where you can install the Xbox games from the Game Pass.
