Xbox app for PC won't launch Forza Horizon 5, won't download some games, very slow download...

I have tried numerous steps above. I have reset and am now trying to re-install Forza Horizon 5. The problem is that it is stuck in the "preparing" phase. Note the time stamp on the lower right of the first screen grab. Now notice that it is still "preparing" more than 20 minutes later.

I am trying to follow your directions as stated here, but I am on Windows 11 and there is no "Update and Security"

Go to the Microsoft Store, search for Gaming Services and install it, then restart your PC and try again

If you don't find it kindly perform the second step on the guide I gave you earlier.

Try reinstalling the Gaming Services app on your Windows 10 device:

- Right-click the Start button in the lower-left corner of the main screen, and then select Windows PowerShell (Admin).

- In the Administrator: Windows PowerShell screen, type the following command and press Enter:

get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers

- In the same window, type the following command and press Enter:

start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

- Install the app on that page, and select Yes when you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt.

- Restart your device, and try to install the game again.

If that doesn't help, Go below in regedit and delete both keys and reboot.

Dang. You want me to perform those 9 steps you listed? Holy ****. I am not IT. I am a console pleb who only knows basic things about PCs. As I reported above, all my games work perfectly that I buy from steam.

Look, I like Gamepass, for my Xbox. I have been a loyal Xbox Live subscriber and user of all things Xbox for 2 decades. I owned all the Xbox consoles and never had these kinds of issues with the consoles. So instead of going through your 9 steps and altering startup files and meddling in stuff that I have no idea what might break, I have a much better 2 step plan that I will do.

1. Change my GamePass ultimate to just Gamepass for Xbox. That way I won't be wasting $5 per month on Gamepass for PC which is broken. It works just fine on my Xbox console and I will still play games there. I got no problem using that service.

2. From now on, any PC game that is available on both the Microsoft store and Steam, I'll just buy from Steam instead of MS. Easy.

Clearly there is nothing wrong with my new desktop or its settings since every Steam game I bought will launch with no issues. I don't have to fiddle with any startup settings to get them to run. You let me know when your company gets around to fixing the buggy Xbox app for Windows PC, then I'll reconsider.
