  1. Xbox App for PC: Guide UI & Suggestions

I’ve been using Xbox and PC for years now and long story short my PC died a year ago so I’ve been gaming on my Xbox. Anyways I recently built a new PC and I’ve been using the Xbox app, and when I press the Xbox button on my controller (or the hotkey for it) it brings up the “Guide” or whatever its called. Now it’s definitely not bad as it is, but I think using the default (or similar) Xbox One “Guide” would be phenomenal (with PC features such as performance monitor, etc).

I keep feeling the urge to press it and navigate as I would on an Xbox but instead it’s all sort of scrambled with different sized tiles placed all around my screen and it just looks sort of sloppy and hard to navigate. I’m aware it’s adjustable but even then you can’t snap the tiles together or place them properly it just doesn’t feel right.

I’m not trying to bash what’s already there, but I feel it could improve so much more even if it was similar to the consoles. I know this is PC but wouldn’t it make more sense to have it similar anyways since it’s still the Xbox app?

Either way great job on the app as a whole and I appreciate your work and dedication. This is just a suggestion and I mean no negativity!

Also I guess this could go in the weekly request thread but I feel like it should be it’s own thread since the weekly thread is 5 days old now and I’d like to hear other inputs and suggestions around the topic.

If this doesn’t fit as its own thread then by all means remove it! I’d just like to help improve the app is all. Have a great dayXbox App for PC: Guide UI & Suggestions :)

    Friends and Home Screen

I agree with Skele. Xbox 360's current UI is beautiful and love it! Xbox 1's UI looks too Windows 8. You have to go to the avatars app not your friends list to see their avatar. Xbox 360 has the Xbox Guide. It's absolutely true apps may take a while to load.
To me navigating the UI with the controller, is faster on the Xbox 360 than on Xbox 1, simply because of the way they've designed the UI on the Xbox 1. It may not be Xbox 360 2.0 but Xbox 1 is X-B-O-X.

My Flaws with the Xbox One Update

Microsoft buries us in Updates. Take a look at how many system Updates Xbox 1 has had at launch, how many updates Microsoft software gets including Windows OS for PC's. A fix/change will likely come out soon rather than later.

I love Windows 10 UI on Xbox 1. I'm sick of that Windows 8 UI. It's the fastest UI ever, which Xbox 1 has ever had. Navigating the dashboard with the controller, the dashboard loads those pages faster while navigating with the controller, than on any previous
UI Microsoft has released for Xbox 1, ever. The Dashboard no longer focuses on 4 by 4 boxes littered on the UI. Windows 10's UI is a lot better faster and user friendly. And for those who say otherwise, I got a new PC 3 weeks ago with Windows 10, and the Windows
10 PC version OS/UI is way more user friendly, the taa daa..... Start Menu. The taa daaa.... customize the start menu including re-sizing apps and choosing which apps you want on it.

    Xbox One: UI suggestions

I'm hoping they will let us put a background image behind the app boxes.

    Question about HDMI in port

@ pvrone, the hdmi in is not just a switch, if it was they would not be able to overlay the Xbox One UI over your satellite/cable guide.

Xbox Game Pass on PC - Why can I not move files to new PC

True, the xbox app is still evolving so there is no official guide on this. I suggest you to check reddit pages as there are some suggested ways to perform this.
