Xbox app for pc beta - download bugged and now cannot remove the file.

So I started downloading forza horizon 4 with the xbox game pass, and got to 60/74.6gb of the download before turning off my pc and returning to it the next day. When I returned the next day it was now refusing to continue the download and after ten minutes
I got fed up and cancelled and started again.

I now cannot gain access to where the corrupted download is and it is still taking up the storage space on my SSD.

Where could I find it so I can remove it?

Also seems that the xbox app has shit itself with this and is really struggling to continue the download. Usually get about 8.7mb/s and now it won't go above 700kb/s.

More importantly I need to know where to delete this corrupted download.

Depending on how many different games you have already installed via the XboxPC app - you may want to try this...

You'll have to "Take Ownership" of the WindowsApp folder and then you should be able to delete the particular game folder that's in there.

This site helped me add the item to the Explorer context menu:

However, once you do that - you will then need to right click on that folder and grant your user account full rights in order to delete it.

Even then, it may not work - because those locked down permissions then change. I wound up having to delete an entire volume and then wound up creating a separate one just for this app. At least now, if it messes up again I'll only have to download the
games and not worry about all the other stuff on my computer.

Have you tried repairing and resetting the Xbox beta app? Right click on it, then select more, then click app settings.

In order to get rid of the corrupted download, try using one of the disk cleanup tools that come with Windows. They tend to look for any incomplete downloads and delete them to free up space.

Also, in the future, there is a pause button in the Microsoft store so you can pause the download before shutting your computer down. That way it won't get corrupted. Best of luck!

The Xbox Game Pass PC app was just updated. Go to the Windows Store and click on ... in top right. Click download and updates, then click get updates. The app is out of beta now and has many improvements. Updating the app might help fix this. Since you
mentioned installing on two different drives, there might be a conflict in the files. The game might not be able to find the right files if there are left over files with the same name in two places. Make sure the game and files for Sea of Thieves are completely
removed from both locations and try to re-install the game if updating the app doesn't help.
