Xbox App does not retain user-selected installation location preference

thank you for the update Armaan

really looking forward to seeing this update change the experience with the xbox app, microsoft store, and general apps and games install in windows.

my biggest concern is that whatever windows did to the 120 odd gigs of my c drive, this coming fix won't restore them.

Good Day!

Let me provide some methods to possibly correct the issue.

1. Change were apps are installed at the Windows level. Meaning they need to do the following
   
   1. Go to their settings
      
   2. Click on System
      
   3. Click on Storage
      
   4. click on Advance Storage settings
      
      • The click on Where new content is saved
        
      • Under "New apps will save to:" have the user choose the driver they want Apps, meaning games will install.
        
   5. Then Have them open the Xbox app and change the default save location their as well.
      

If that does not work then please have them submit a bug via Windows feedback within the Xbox app.

On Xbox app for Windows:

• Launch Xbox app
  
• Navigate to the top right of the application and select your gamerpic icon
  
• Select “Feedback” in the drop-down menu
  
• Select “Report a problem”
  
• Click Give new feedback
  
• Add [Xbox Forum] in “Summarize your feedback” followed by a feedback summary
  
  • Summary should be descriptive and fully detailing the error you are receiving. Links redirecting to this forum post will not be accepted and will cause a delay in your feedback submission.
    
• Category should automatically be selected.
  
• In the "add more details" category, you will have the option to "Recreate my problem". Recreating the problem will help us further pinpoint the error you are receiving.
  
• Once complete, post the title of the bug report along with the submission date in this thread

Hi Jason,

Please can you revisit your instructions? Perhaps we have different versions of the Xbox app, but I think your instructions may be for an older version as I am unable to follow them...for example, there are no "three dot" menus in the top left as you can see from the below screenshot, so I have no confidence the remaining instructions are correct.

I can confirm the issue is still happening at the moment and I have not taken any action based on your response
