Xbox app borked? Maybe a Live service issue?

Hi,

Issues with signing in to the Xbox App may occur if the Xbox Live Services are not enabled on your computer. To enable the Xbox Live Services, you may follow the steps below:

1. Press the Windows key on your keyboard and type Services in the search box.
   
2. Once the Services window opens, scroll down and look for Xbox Live Auth Manager,
   Xbox Live Game Save, and Xbox Live Networking Service.
   
3. You have to repeat the steps on each service. Right-click on each service and click
   Properties.
4. Make sure that the Startup type is set to Automatic.
5. If the Service status is stopped, click on Start.
6. Click OK to save the settings.

If the issue persists, clear the local Xbox identity data.

1. Open File Explorer and paste the following into the address bar to go to a specific location on your computer:
   %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.XboxIdentityProvider_cw5n1h2txyewy\AC\TokenBroker
   
2. Delete any accounts and cache folders that you can see at this location.
3. Launch the Xbox App and sign in to your account again.

Achievements app not working

Just got this same error code 0x87c40011 as-well. Saw the xbox live service alert maybe that could be something to do with it?

 

Kind of. When I click on a name, there's often a delay of 2-3 seconds before the info loads in, rather than it just popping in instantly like it used to. As of right now I'm no longer getting the totally blank pages though.

 

Hi Sigma, Currently there is a Xbox Live service issue so it could explain some of the delays your experiencing today. You can check the status located here:support.xbox.com/.../xbox-live-status.
Hopefully the will resolve this soon.

This is happening again right now with both the beta and non-beta versions of the app. It's been happening for at least 3 hours.

 

This is still happening now. What is going on with MS software and services???

Hi Sigma, I am not seeing any Xbox Live outage reports so not sure why this is happening. I will call this out in our reports to the developers. If you are able to reproduce this later please report this via the Xbox App (Beta) using the "Report a problem"
and I will request an investigation.

It's happening right now. I just signed in here to reply to this thread again. I've just reported it via the app.

 

BTW, when I go into Settings - Network, it says that some Live services are experiencing issues (Social & Gaming), so maybe that's what's causing it.

It was working fine earlier.

It was, but now this issue is happening yet again right now. This time it just says "up and running" for Live services, so I dunno what's going on with it. It worked fine for months, now this issue is a regular occurrence.

 

It's working again now, although it can take 3-4 seconds for the info to load in. That's acceptable though.

Earlier on, it would sometimes load in if I waited 20-30 seconds, but sometimes it wouldn't load in at all.

I'm 99% sure it's not a problem at my end.
