Xbox app autocloses as soon as i open it

As the title say, I open the xbox app and it closes immediately without an error code.

I also found that if I right click on xbox app shortcut and go to settings the app doesn't close and i can use it but I can't go to "home". If from settings I remove the stream to home option it works fine.

But my problem is I want to stream my xbox one games to my pc and I can't because every time I press the connect button the app closes.

Please help!

Xbox App crashes as soon as i pull it up

So ever since 2 updates ago like about 3 weeks ago i want to say, this app has been crashing as soon as i tap on it. I get no error code only the loading icon rotating and the cancel option and then crashes everytime. I contacted support through microsoft
and they told me i exhausted every troubleshooting method and to contact apple for help and so i did. Apple then enlightened me that the xbox app was the only app that i have that was crashing so it narrowed it down to being a problem on xbox/microsofts end
and that leads me here asking the community for help. I should put out there that ive tried everything i could think of to fix it ranging from deleting the app and redownloading, restarting my phone, deleting the app restarting the phone and redownloading
the app and all of the above with and without wifi and ive tried all that several times and yes have the latest update iOS 10.2.1 and the latest update for the xbox app.

Sorry to hear about the Xbox App crashing for you. Which device are you using and is the device currently Jail Broken as well? Do you have any other iOS devices and are they also having the same issue?

I'm having the same problem

 

Do any of your other apps do this? On window 10 there is a known bug when onedrive is on autostart and logged in. Onedrive app on win 10 changes admin permissions on our local PC and can prevent windows store and store downloaded apps from working. I had
this a lot when i first upgraded. I had to reset all my permissions (easier to do if you restore win 10 to the initial fresh install state (after upgrade)) stop onedrive from running on start (remove from start up folder) and never log in to the onedrive app!
It may not be this...but if you are having other apps fail like store and mail...it is likely this bug!

Well no other app on my system crashes or autocloses, only the xbox app and only when I try to open the connection to add my xbox one for streaming, other than that it runs "okay" and by that I mean that some times it autocloses without error code when I am
joining a party chat or after a few minutes being in party chat. But I can live with that, I can always re-join the party chat.

So Far I did all the SFC & Dism checks with result all being okay, I am reseting the cache of the store, getting a little of problem there but I fail to see why the cache of store would create problems on xbox app.

I did full driver cleaning and installing all the latest AMD drivers, I do not have CF or SLI and I don't have the morphological filtering option enabled but still!

I even deleted all messages and lost the keys I had for all gears of war, I wouldn't mind if it fixed my problem but nope!

About a month ago everything was fine for me, I don't know what changed then. It wasn't a windows update day, nor AMD driver update not even the xbox app updated.

And from what I see by searching on google it is something that lots of people have.

The last thing left for me is to restore/format my pc but I would like not to do this or if I have to do it, it would be after the "Creators Update"

 

I upgrade my GPU from AMD Radeon R9 280X to Radeon RX480 8GB, did clean install of the drivers, but same result.

Is anyone from MS working on a fix for that? As I see I am not the only one who faces this problem

 

So I've got a fix for this, I contacted ms support and told them everything I did and that it didn't work.

They told me to download the Media Creation Tool and install windows again on top of the current installation without losing settings or programs.

And voila! It works like a charm again!
