Xbox and PC accounts connected, but can't get into PC version

I understand how confusing this type of login issue can be. I'd like to help you find a solution.

Sometimes accounts get connected to the PC and it's not so obvious how to replace it with the account you want to use. I suggest the following steps to reset things so you can log into the account you want to use with Xbox services.

First, make sure there are no service outages on Xbox Status:

Try manually removing your login credentials:

1. Close Xbox App, Microsoft Store, and all games.

2. Press the Windows button and type "Credential Manager."

3. Open the Windows "Credential Manager".

4. Click on "Windows Credentials"

5. Look for any entry named 'XblGrts|DeviceKey' and click the down arrow.

6. Click Remove and then click Yes in the pop up window.

7. Launch the Xbox App and sign into the Microsoft account you want to use.

If the issue persists, try creating a new user account on the PC (local) and logging into the apps from there.

1. Go to Settings > Accounts > Other users

2. Clock Add Account

3. In the sign-in window choose 'I don't have this person's sign-in information'

4. In the Create Account window click 'Add a user without a Microsoft account'

5. Follow the prompts and then sign out of the current user

6. On the lock screen, sign into the new user account

7. Open the Xbox App and sign into the Microsoft account you want to use.

Also, are you sure the game is not the PC version?

Plenty of times if the game is on your account, but not on your Xbox, perhaps, the game is simply available on Xbox or you have purchased the PC version by mistake.

if you purchased the PC version by mistake, then, you can quickly get a refund and purchase the Xbox version.

Definitely PC and then I will maybe buy xbox one version. I would buy only the xbox one version but it comes out a couple of months after PC....I can't wait that long! Going to pre-order for PC shortly to get the 5 day early access as well!

The main reason to get the xbox version instead of the PC version is if your PC can't handle it too well. I know with our computers, it can get pretty choppy and has been known to crash one of them. Java be a resource hog.

I already own red dead redemption 2 on my Microsoft account for Xbox so why can't I use my Microsoft account to install the game on my PC?

Because like many other games, Red Red Redemption 2 isnt a play anywhere title meaning if you bought it for Xbox then that only entitles you to the Xbox version of the game.

If you want to play the PC version then youll need to purchase the PC version.
